Rummy tips his hand

Everything I need to know about the guiding principles of the Bush administration is in this news story—in fact, in the first paragraph:

Rumsfeld Defends U.S. Missile Shield as Triumph

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on Wednesday called a fledgling U.S. ballistic missile defense system in Alaska a triumph for the Bush administration "over pessimism and skepticism."
Evidently, skepticism is now something we must triumph over. In favor of credulity and gullibility, no doubt, which is the way they'd prefer we remain. Rummy carefully comments that "it can work," without adding that it doesn't yet.

I shouldn't be surprised that skepticism is not compatible with the current conservative world view, but it is a surprise to hear one of them admit it publicly.
