I'm not in the business of telling people what they must read—but damn it, you must read this Straight Dope Staff Report: "How come TV psychics seem so convincing?" It's a fair-sized article, so I'll give you the short-attention-span version: "Psychics" cheat. They cheat their lying asses off, and some of them make their ill-gotten fortunes doing it. I knew that, and maybe you did too, but good grief, we're trapped on the same planet with people who don't know it, people who believe this crap. And those same people are allowed to vote and operate motor vehicles. Between the psychics and the believers, it's a toss-up who makes me angrier.
