Don't you just love infomercials? Yeah, me neither.

Advertising is probably the lowest form of culture, and infomercials are certainly the lowest form of advertising, capable of placing any product in the worst possible light. What a pleasure to find, via Metafilter, the Ridiculous Infomercial Review: "Welcome to the Ridiculous Infomercial Review, the website that gleans laughs from the tacky world of television infomercials."

One tidbit from my reading may or may not be true, although it's highly plausible. Ever wonder why so many products for sale on TV cost $19.95? Market research shows that this is the amount of money most people are willing to kiss goodbye rather than ask for a refund after they realize the POS they just received wasn't worth buying.
